Focus & Choice

To believe in something and not live it, is dishonest

~ Mahatma Ghandi

At one time I wrote to you practically everyday, allowing you a peak into our journey to a slower, more purposed lifestyle; hoping that by watching our mistakes you would find a better way.  The passage of time has created new circumstances and my days have become more hodge-podged and scattered.  After reading Kathie’s post,  5 Ways To Finding Focus & Reinvigoration, I had an epiphany.  My focus had shifted from the act of living to the burden of debt; not credit card or car but taxes and student loans.  This burden had stifled my ability to write and to be creative.

This can handle this one of two ways:

  1. Allow this burden to bury me by allowing it to consume all of my time and energy.
  2. Place this burden in its proper place, apply only the required attention, and not allow it to intrude into the other aspects of my life.

Hmmm.  While this appears to be a no brainer, it is a choice and one that will require daily affirmation.  Remember, our thoughts and words affect matter and help to create the world around us; like attracts like thus by choosing to not allow this situation to consume me and affirming, both mentally and verbally where it stands, I create the outcome.  Thinking and acting in a positive manner attracts positive (and desirable) outcomes.

Choose carefully and mindfully; I choose door #2.  What about you?
